Who Are We
Cafe Noir is a duo featuring singer Brandi Haaf, and pianist Gordon Deyell performing music from the 1920’ to 1950’s with a focus on French Jazz music.
Brandi
Brandi grew up singing and twirling her way through childhood. Between private voice coaching, travelling choirs and musical theatre, she learned that singing was one of her greates loves. Jazz music and big band have always been a large part of her music repertoire. Brandi joined a French jazz banc in Kansas city and was their main vocalist for over four years. After moving to Kelowna Brandi joined forces with jazz pianist, Gord Deyell to form Cafe Noir.
Gord
Gord has had a long and varied career playing music in 3 of the 4 corners of the world. After graduation from Humber College in Toronto as a Trumpet major, he has enjoyed playing with many different ensembles from symphony orchestras to samll Latin jazz bands and everything in between. But his first love has been writing and accompanying singers in the jazz tradition of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Frank Sinatra. He is excited to be embarking on this musical project, Cafe Noir, with Brandi and is looking forward to all the things they will create together.
